Primary Student Leadership team and staff attended CWA's International Day at CWA, Merriwa. They organised a great luncheon featuring food from Papua New
Guinea.
Students from
Merriwa Central School, under the guidance of Mrs Martin, had been researching
Papua New Guinea and had completed posters for the event.
The posters which adorned the
walls of the CWA hall were all of a high standard reflecting the work of
students and staff.
Guest speaker Emily Gribble of
UNICEF outlined some of the projects UNICEF has developed to support the
communities in Papua New Guinea.These
projects were life changing demonstrating the importance of ongoing health care
advances and access to quality health care. The students spoke about their learning experiences and the steps they
undertook to complete the poster.
My compliments to the catering
team for giving us a taste of Papua New Guinea. Thanks to the organising committee for hosting Merriwa Central School at
this marvellous event.
