Join us for a special event celebrating the incredible journeys of women at Thiess who have rolled up their sleeves and stepped into the world of mining. From environment and finance to people management, engineering, marketing and communication, safety, site work and so much more - there's an opportunity for everyone at Thiess! Where there's a Will Youth Leadership Conference Sydney. This is replacing the Adelaide Youth Summit that Merriwa Central Students have participated in the past.

Thursday 30 April to Friday 1 May - Year 7 Camp - Lake Keepit Sport and Recreation Centre

Our Year 7 students will attend a one-night camp at Lake Keepit Sport and Recreation Centre, Tamworth, from Thursday, 30 April to Friday 1 May 2026. This camp provides an exciting opportunity for students to participate in a range of outdoor and team-building activities designed to help them get to know each other, build positive relationships and develop confidence as they begin high school.

Book Week - Little Sprouts Reading Day

Date: August

Time: All day

Book Week is a special time at our school where we celebrate a love of reading through our Little Sprouts Community Reading Day. This day is all about planting the seed to read by promoting a love of books from an early age. Students from Merriwa Central School are joined by students from our community. Together they walk through town with their teachers, visiting local businesses where community members read stories aloud. Students, parents and teachers follow a special schedule that includes visits to both the Merriwa Central school library and the Town Library.

Our annual Variety Night has always been held in conjunction with Education Week and is a spectacular night to showcase the talent and dedication of both students and staff.

P&C meeting

Date: First Tuesday of every month

Time: 6:30pm

Join our vibrant P&C. Meetings are held Tuesday of every month within the term at the Merriwa RSL Club. Parents and carers are welcome to attend.
