Last week a Sydney school was closed for a prolonged period as a result of a positive COVID-19 test. We appreciate the ongoing support of the Merriwa community as we all work together to maintain student and staff safety, health and wellbeing. We request that any students which are unwell (which includes sore throat, runny nose, cough) do not attend school to minimise the spread of any virus. Any student who becomes unwell during the school day will be monitored in sick bay until they can be collected.
Although some restrictions have been lifted there are still a number of activities that cannot be undertaken currently and we appreciate the manner in which staff, students and parents have responded.
Social distancing of adults is still important. Social distancing is achieving by maintaining 1.5 metres distance from other people will continue at this stage. Social distancing of children at school is not required. Please support school staff at pick up and drop off by ensuring you social distance and stand back from the exit points at a reasonable distance.
